"We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next, to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers accommodate ... And we travel, in
essence, to become young fools again -- to slow time down and get taken in, and fall in love once more."

Hope
Well, I really have nothing to say at the moment, but need to test out this newfangled contraption they call a blog. Alexia and I leave for Chicago in a few hours to catch our plane for Amsterdam. I'm excited. I hope the old world is kinder and gentler than the new one. I'm definitely eager for my imminent expatriation. There is a whole other world out there. What does it mean to not be an American?
